Urgent Prayer Request: 9 Year Old Traditional Altar Boy Shot in Guatemala
Camilo José Gabriel Pozuelos Rodas, known simply as Camilo, is a 9 year old boy in Guatemala. The Pozuelos family attends the local chapel of the Society of Saint Pius X, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, where Camilo serves Mass. They are also subscribers to Catholic Family News, and the children's religious formation (besides learning English) has been supplemented by late CFN editor John Vennari's CD's.
Little Camilo was playing in a nearby park when another youngster shot him, for unknown reasons. According to family members, Camilo's liver was torn in two and his diaphragm was pierced as well. He has been operated on twice, but the bleeding continues. In fact, his family has reached out to their local community, requesting blood donations through the media.
With the permission of local SSPX prior, Fr. Lawrence Novak, the Militia of the Immaculate has dedicated today (Thursday, March 15) to prayer, fasting and penance, beseeching Our Lady to grant a quick recovery to Camilo. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered at 8 PM (EST) for this intention.
CFN asks your prayers for this dear boy, his family, the doctors and all involved. Your remembering Camilo at Mass and Holy Communion, in your Rosaries and other prayers is greatly appreciated.
